CLCF Soccer Club is one of a few Rhode Island soccer clubs partnering with the New England Revolution Academy to provide select players an opportunity to become a member of a CLCF Academy Team, accelerating their soccer development by training with professional coaches from the New England Revolution Academy. Visit our CLUB STAFF page for information.

The Revolution Academy is one of the most innovative youth training programs in Major League Soccer, recognized by U.S. Soccer as one of the top 10 youth development programs in the country. The Revolution Academy trains players in every aspect of the game, including ball mastery, speed of play, coordination and balance.

The Revolution Academy’s Direction, Philosophy, Vision and Success are based on three keywords:

01234567890Educate
01234567890Connect
01234567890Inspire

Players wishing to be considered for a CLCF Academy Team must attend evaluations (try-outs). Evaluations are held in June and the dates will be posted at the Chafee Complex, on FacebookTwitterInstagram and HERE at least three weeks prior to the first date. Each player must REGISTER ONLINE before they can attend evaluations.

All evaluations are conducted by Revolution Academy Coaches. Once the evaluation scores are calculated, those players who score in the top of their age brackets will be invited to join an Academy team. If necessary, players may be invited back for Academy evaluations on a separate date. In that case, Academy evaluations will be tabulated from there and invitations will be extended to players who have scored well enough to be part of the program.

Players not invited to join an Academy team will be offered a spot on a CLCF Select team

Academy Program Fees are collected upon acceptance of a position offered on an Academy team. Fees can be paid all at once or with an online payment plan.

Fees Cover:

  • Two team training sessions (per week) in the fall and spring with Revolution Academy Coaches. Sessions offer skill development training to develop ball mastery, 1v1 moves, change of direction moves and creativity with the ball. Players work on improving first touch and speed of play through challenging and competitive Academy sessions. Note: Older teams may drop to one training session per week during middle/high school soccer seasons to avoid overtraining

  • One team training session (per week) in the winter
